Introduction

Created in 2008, the Caliban association is a non-profit organization, launched by a group of robotics fans. Their goal is to think, elaborate and promote cognitronic sciences (a mix of cognitive sciences and robotics).

To do that, they bring together people, whatever their technical skills, who are interested in creating an artificial intelligence. The idea is to gather willpower, compare theoretical points of view, identify technologies and share knowledge voluntary developments.

  • a standard robotics research platform, in the shape of evolving kits,
  • workshops about artificial cognitive system,
  • a "Performance Robot" forum to deal with projects and exchange with non-members,
  • support for personal projects,
  • an exchange of experiences so that everyone can progress fast, whatever their level at first, and thus take part in the result.

The Caliban association is a guide for the community of those who wish to try cognitive robotics.

Come and meet these robotics and science fans on their booth at Comic Con'! They exhibit three humanoids in construction and a Johnny-5-like robot from the film Short Circuit!
